November 5: Our stock of adult COVID vaccine is running low, and availability may be limited at our clinics until we get our next shipment. We hope to receive more some time next week.

Immunizations are important for everyone, at all ages. We give free immunizations to reduce the spread of disease and to protect health. If you have insurance, you can get vaccines from your doctor and area pharmacies. 

Check the Wisconsin Immunization Registry to see what vaccines you’re due for. If you can’t look up your record, make an appointment with us and we’ll let you know and vaccinate you!

For Adults

Eligibility

We give free immunizations to adults who:

  • Are 19 years and older, AND
  • Do not have insurance that pays for immunizations

We do not give the following immunizations:

  • Travel immunizations
  • Shingles/Zoster
  • RSV (respiratory syncytial virus)

For Infants and Children

Eligibility

We give free routine childhood immunizations to infants and children (through 18 years of age) who:

  • Do not have health insurance, or
  • Have Medical Assistance or BadgerCare, or
  • Are American Indian or Alaska Native

If your child has insurance that pays for immunizations, please call their provider.

Vaccines Available

  • DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, & acellular pertussis)
  • COVID-19
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)
  • HPV (human papillomavirus)
  • Inactivated poliovirus
  • Influenza (flu)
  • Meningococcal ACWY
  • Meningococcal B (upon request)
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Mpox, free for all who are eligible. Please do not self-schedule, instead call 608-242-6255.
  • Pneumococcal conjugate
  • Rotavirus
  • RSV (respiratory syncytial virus, given October through March)
  • Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, & acellular pertussis)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)

For Work

Does your job require immunizations? You can look up what immunizations you’ve already had in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.

If your insurance doesn’t pay for immunizations, check above to see what we can provide.

Child Care Providers

All City of Madison child care workers are recommended to get these immunizations.

Health Care Workers and Long Term Care Providers

Ask your employer which immunizations are required. Other immunizations are recommended for your line of work.

For Travel

We don’t give most of the immunizations recommended for travel. See “immunizations for adults” above for immunizations we do give and to learn if you qualify.

Walk-In Option

Want a walk-in clinic closer to you? Visit one of our mobile clinics!

We offer all vaccine options for people 18 and under at our mobile clinics. We can only offer flu and COVID vaccines to people 19 and older.

How to Make an Appointment

  • You can schedule an appointment at our South Park Street Office or our East Washington Avenue Office.
  • We provide an interpreter, if needed.
  • If you need a TB test in the next 4-6 weeks, please call 608-242-6255 to schedule an appointment.
