Key Takeaways for the Week of 11/21
- Are you experiencing cold symptoms? Could be rhinovirus (common cold), enterovirus, or parainfluenza. In the last month, all of these viruses have been detected at higher levels in lab tests done in Dane County.
- About the same level of school-aged kids are out sick this week compared to the last few weeks, in the district on which we have data.
- Visits to the emergency room for any respiratory illness have been increasing since September, the increases are especially big in people 17 and under. But we are still seeing low and stable levels of COVID, Flu, and RSV activity in our emergency department data-- meaning other types of respiratory illness are likely bringing kids into the emergency department.
- This week we added daily RSV hospitalizations to the hospitalizations page.
