The dashboard has changed.

With the ending of the Public Health Emergency on May 11 and the end of the typical respiratory virus/influenza season, we are paring down our COVID dashboard to just hospitalization and death data, updated once per week. We will resume more comprehensive reporting in the fall, inclusive of all respiratory viruses, without a singular focus on COVID. You can find an archived (not updated) version of the old dashboard on our website.

So what’s next?

We are working with partners on a collaborative project to develop a county-wide respiratory pathogen data surveillance system. Our partners include:

  • Wisconsin Department of Health Services
  • Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene
  • Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District
  • University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine
  • University of Wisconsin Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine
  • University of Wisconsin Oregon Child Absentee due to Respiratory Disease Study (ORCHARDS)

These partnerships will help us gather surveillance data from wastewater, syndromic surveillance from emergency department visits, sentinel sites (primary or urgent care settings), hospital inpatients, school absenteeism and symptoms, lab test results, and air surveillance.

We know how much our community has relied on and appreciated local data that we have provided throughout the COVID pandemic, and we hope to continue to have accessible information available to help people navigate the upcoming respiratory virus season.

We want your feedback on our future work!

We’re working now on how we will present respiratory data in the future, including COVID, flu and RSV. Please fill out our survey so we can continue to effectively share respiratory disease data in the fall and beyond. Thank you!
