Testing positive for COVID can be scary, especially when you are high risk for getting seriously sick. Oral antivirals, like Paxlovid and Molnupiravir, have changed the game when it comes to treating COVID. Antivirals stop the virus that causes COVID from making copies of itself in your body. In other words, doctors can prescribe these treatments for you to take at home to reduce your chance of ending up in the hospital or worse and may reduce the risk of “long COVID”. The catch: antiviral treatments must be started within five days of your symptoms starting.

If you are over 18 and currently live in Wisconsin, you can get connected with antiviral treatments fast, by either calling 833-273-6330 or going online to access the state’s telehealth portal. After creating an account, you just have to fill out some personal information, including medications, health conditions, family history, allergies, etc. This part takes about 5-10 minutes.

If you’re eligible, you’ll be matched with a licensed clinician to see if Paxlovid or Molnupiravir antiviral treatments are right for you. You can choose either a phone call or a video call. The consultation will start within 30 minutes after your submit the request. Prescriptions can either be delivered or picked up at your local pharmacy.

Before getting started, make sure you have these things handy:

• A list of medications, supplements, or vitamins you are taking.
• A copy of your lab results within the last three months if you have kidney disease.

The best news of all: these services are available to you seven days a week, from 8:00am-8:00pm (CT), at absolutely no cost to you, in a variety of languages.
