Public Health licensed establishments shut down during power outage on the isthmus

posted

Due to the fire at MGE and the subsequent power outage in downtown Madison, all establishments regulated by Public Health Madison & Dane County without back up generation in the impacted area need to close until power is restored. This includes restaurants, swimming pools, tattoo and body piercing, hotels, and retail food stores. The power outage, in conjunction with the excessive heat warning and unknown duration of this event; necessitate that these measures are taken to protect the public health. Establishments are welcome to open after power is restored. Please contact PHMDC at (608) 243-0360 if you need any additional information.
