Thank You

As 2020 comes to a close and we reflect upon the year, we want to thank you for everything that you’ve been doing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We know that this year has been hard. We know that Thanksgiving was hard, and the remainder of the holiday season will be too. To the family and friends of the 179 Dane County residents who we lost to COVID-19 this year, we extend our heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

You’ve heard it said often this year that “we’re all in this together.” And we are. Wearing masks, practicing physical distancing, limiting gatherings, and protective measures like washing hands often work, and they work best when they are layered together.

With a new year comes a vaccine and new hope that we can turn the corner on this pandemic and see a return to life as we knew it on the horizon. The actions you took this year made a difference in slowing the spread of COVID-19, and the actions you continue to take will keep our community well in 2021. We wish you good health during this holiday season and into 2021.

Sincerely,

The staff of Public Health Madison & Dane County
