New water slides over six feet require two inspections for Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) before we can release the pool license. The two inspections are a structural inspection, as well as a slide function inspection. These inspections are performed by two different DSPS inspectors. Existing water slides must be evaluated by an engineer every five years for the structural stability and integrity of the slide and platform. A copy of a report signed by the engineer shall be kept on site. It is important to note that the engineer's inspection does not preclude the operator's responsibility to perform daily inspections.
